At 9.36 A.M. on 12th June, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Lecture Hall observed the 2018 graduation ceremony for graduates in Grade 9. In attendance were Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli, Vice Principals Xu Xuchang, Liu Bing, Principal Assistant& Junior High Director Lu Dan, Junior High Deputy Directors Wang Shengxiang, Hu Sen, all the teachers and students from Grade 9 as well as some parents.
In the first chapter, at the beginning of the commencement, all the teachers and students sang the school song ‘Sowing Hopes’. Students spent their wonderful junior high school life on campus. Thus, the school song once again reminded them that they were from Anqing Foreign Language School. In the warm atmosphere, teachers and students watched the graduation video ‘It’s So Good to Have You’, which not only included laughter, tears and struggles, but also recorded the dribs and drabs about students on campus.
In the second chapter, students listened to teachers’ encouragement, expectations and wishes. Teacher representative Bai Zhaomin affectionately sent students her wishes and hoped they would cleave through the waves and bravely go forward during their life course. In addition, in the melody ‘Meeting Each Other Is A Song’, everyone watched teachers’ remark collection ‘To My Dear Students’. Smiling faces, a great many pictures and sentences represented teachers’ sincerest wishes to their students. Afterwards, each head teacher from Grade 9 came on stage and conveyed their expectations and wishes to students with their own songs and words. Finally, Principal Assistant Lu Dan delivered a keynote speech in which he thanked the hard work of all the teachers from the 9th grade, the support and help from all the school leaders and parents. Meanwhile, Principal Assistant Lu Dan congratulated students on their smooth graduation and hoped they would win victories in their first battle in the Senior High School Entrance Examination to create another glory.
The third chapter of the graduation ceremony--gratitude to the Alma Mater, which were students’ aspirations. First of all, student Wang Lei from Class 3, Grade 9 made a speech on behalf of all the students from Grade 9. He recalled everything in the study and life of students in graduating classes, felt thankful for Anqing Foreign Language School’s cultivation, teachers’ inculcation, expressed high morale and belief in victory in the Senior High School Entrance Examination, which impressed all the attendees a lot. Afterwards, student representatives presented the master edition of the yearbook created by students themselves to the Alma Mater for permanent collection.
The graduation song, the fourth chapter of the graduation ceremony, is not necessarily separation but the beginning of the countdown to the next reunion. Student representatives from each class came on stage to obtain their graduation certificates from school leaders. Furthermore, Vice Principal Xu Xuchang delivered a keynote speech at the commencement in which he thanked the entire staff team for their hard work on behalf of Anqing Foreign Language School. Also, he thanked the students who graduated for their role models for schoolmates in lower grades. Last but not the least, all the teachers and students sang the song ‘Days in Anqing Foreign Language School’ with which students concluded their three-year beautiful junior high school life.
After the commencement, along with the song ‘Wish You A Good Journey’, all the teachers and students from Grade 9 shook hands and hugged each other, which reserved this teacher-student friendship. Watching the familiar campus, familiar faces, holding the warm hands, upon the arrival of graduation, teachers and students could not hold back their tears, hugging affectionately and waving to part. Red and swollen eyes, exhortations, hugs and glancing back interwove into a weepy and thrilling picture. At this moment, parents were deeply impressed by the scene like this, who took out their cameras and cellphones one after another to preserve a number of unforgettable scenes.
On the whole, meeting each other is a song. There are tears and laughter when we part. However, parting starts the countdown of the next reunion. Let us wipe away the tears and be grateful, for having you is so great!
